Karate Weapons

The karate weapons program teaches students how to use weapons, most of which originated as farm tools in Okinawa. Students will work with many different types of weaponry, including wooden and metal weapons. This class teaches students how to defend themselves with various weapons, as well as against various weapon attacks.

The following weapons are covered in this program: bo (5'-6' wooden staff), sai (three-pronged metal weapon), kama (sickle), escrima sticks (3' wooden staffs), nunchaku ("numchucks"), tonfa (police baton), walking stick, and bokken (wooden samurai swords).
