Miss Lauren is a five and a half year trained karate student at LVIRK Training Center. She instructs the beginner and sometimes advanced students due to her 6 months of leadership training. She decided to join the leadership team for several reasons. First, she knew it would be something she would be good at. Helping kids learn and become better at their techniques is one of her strong points. She always helps her brothers with their school work and the karate techniques at home and thought it would be a good to express her help and leadership at karate as well. Miss Lauren has been an assistant instructor for several months and has learned to work well with the students who are trying to improve their techniques and correct their mistakes. She has been a member of the Black Belt club for almost three and half years. There she learns new techniques and improves on them throughout her training. Miss Lauren is recently a Jr. Black Belt with a Purple Stripe and is working hard to achieve the next level.
Miss Lauren began karate for several reasons. She found out her brothers were having so much fun and were learning a lot. When they joined, she decided to quit dance and join as well. She also wanted to have good self defense skills and know what to do if she were ever attacked by a stranger. She feels that karate comes in handy when you need it and is glad she joined!
Miss Lauren has made several accomplishments due to her amazing work. She has been awarded with the “Student of the Month” several times and “Student of the Year” once. She was also the only member of LVIRK Training Center to enter the Grant’s Martial Arts Competition in 2007. She was awarded first place in Kata and Sparring. Lauren also was awarded “Grand Championship” in her Kata division against two other competitors. She stands proud of her accomplishments!
Miss Lauren doesn’t just do karate. She spent one year on a basketball team and played the position of right defender on a soccer team for a year. Lastly, she has been attending an art class every Tuesday for a year and some of her artwork was even displayed in a local art show. She is now attending karate and is doing very well at it. Miss Lauren is keeping an open mind in career goals and colleges. She does not have a specific college in mind but wants to attend a college with a medical field. Her number one career goal is to become a neuro or brain surgeon.
Miss Lauren's goal is to show karate students and non-karate students that they can accomplish the goals they set their minds to with hard work. For karate students she wants them to look up to her for help and be able to help them improve their karate techniques.
