Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) program captures the combative essence of
martial arts and is designed as a new hybrid-hardcore course. This course will
focus on fighting tactics, including drills and scenarios with empty hands.
Our MMA program was developed for a few purposes. First, the MMA program
helps fighters get ready to compete in amateur and eventually professional
Mixed Martial Arts fight circuits worldwide. Some of the professional Mixed
Martial Arts leagues we prepare fighters for are: Ultimate Fighting
Championships (UFC), International Fight League (IFL), ProElite EliteXC,
and Pride. Second, the MMA program gives athletes, who just enjoy the
sport, a chance to learn and improve their skills and compete with their peers.
Third, the Mixed Martial Arts program offers members a chance to learn some
effective and useful self-defense techniques for the street.
The Mixed Martial Arts class will use the effective basic training skills,
conditioning drills, punches, kicks, elbow & knee strikes of Muay Thai
Kickboxing. The program will also add the basic throws of Judo, the ground
fighting of Jiu-jitsu and Wrestling, and the self-defense skills of traditional Karate. This
class puts the proven skills of all these arts together to make a simple, yet
effective, art of self-defense.
We welcome all newcomers regardless of their ability or level. So feel free
